About Phonics & Sums
Phonics & Sums is a small, independent site for parents who are teaching early reading and math at home, whether that's full-time homeschool or twenty minutes after school.
It's run by Anmol, who also designs printable math and phonics worksheets for kindergarten (sold under the placeholder shop name Knowsphere Studio).
What you can expect here
- Guides for grown-ups. Everything on this site is written for parents and teachers. It isn't a children's site, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
- Sources for every number. When we quote a price, a research finding or a standard, we link to where we read it. Prices change, so check the seller's page before you buy.
- No fake testing. Unless an article says otherwise, we haven't used the paid programs we compare. We compare them using their published prices, sample content and public research, and we say so at the top.
- Honest about money. The site is paid for by display ads, affiliate links (we may earn a commission if you buy through them) and sales of our own workbook. None of that changes what we recommend, and we'll tell you when a free option is good enough.
About our workbook and AI
Our Kindergarten Math & Phonics Workbook was made with the help of AI tools. AI helped write the code that generated and laid out the worksheets, the answer keys and some of the product text. The illustrations are simple original vector drawings made in code (no AI-generated images), and each answer was checked by a second, independent check.
